this week.

I'm very pleased to report that I've spent the majority of this week in either parks or coffee shops.  And my mode of transportation? A lovely little bicycle! Not a bad way to go about things, eh?

Mr. Kyle was the trés stylish one this week, rocking some new and very on-trend Norweigan boatshoes as well as some classic Saucony's with neon laces.  Go, Kyle :)

let's romp.

Rompers can be tricky, yes.  But, they're perfect on hot, sticky, summer days, as I recently learned.

I think the key to buying a great romper (or jumpsuit) is to seriously consider the cut of the garment.  It must flatter your shape, and that's not always easy with this style of clothing.  So, be prepared to "hunt." It's also important to make sure that the romper's fabric is of good quality. Cotton and linen are ideal options, because those fabrics won't cling and they'll wear well on the hottest of days. (I should mention that rompers are the best thing to wear when bicycling around a city all day, by the way. Adorable, and practical!)

I'm especially loving all the rompers and jumpsuits currently available at Anthropologie.  In fact, I just purchased this one.  I don't want to take it off, ever. I adore it.  Here are some other romper instances that I enjoy, both of the casual and more elegant varieties.

this week.

Finally, spring!  Highlights of this week included brunch with dear friends at a favorite new Old Port spot, Le Cartet, and being introduced to a lovely Mile End clothing shop called Citizen Vintage.  Far and away, though, the best part of this week was being able to bike everywhere throughout the city.  Biking in Montreal is much faster than driving, and on a beautiful, sunny, spring day, there's nothing more enjoyable than whizzing along the bike path with the wind in your hair :)

ch ch ch changes.

Making a change of any kind isn’t easy, and I find that as I get older, my options rarely appear in black and white. But I’ve always been a firm believer in doing what’s right for you, no matter the difficulty of the situation, and no matter what others may say or think.

So, recently I made a change.  I decided that it was time to move on from Vanilla, and Friday marked my last day with the team.

I’d just like to thank Mark, Todd and Tim for their friendship, guidance and hilarity over the past year.  You guys are an incredibly talented team, and I wish you, and Vanilla, nothing but the best.

As for what’s next, you’ll just have to stay tuned...

this week.

A couple of months ago I started a recurring "Snapshots" post.  Published each Friday, it displayed and discussed the things I wore each week.

I'd like to broaden this recurring post concept to include not just my weekly clothing choices, but also my favorite food experiences and even just special scenes and/or cool architecture that I stumble upon each week.  So, rather than a sartorial report each Friday, I'd present you with more of a "highlights of my week" type report. Sound good?

Let's give it a whirl.  Happy Friday, all!
